Top 6 Must-have Greenhouse Accessories

When your greenhouse is installed and you want to grow fresh and beautiful plants or vegetables, then you can’t miss these 6 accessories below.

Greenhouse vents you will need at least two vents on the roof and one at the side to give a good flow of air. The number of vents depends on the size of the greenhouse, but consider paying extra for additional ones.

Automatic vent-opener The automatic window opener is mounted on the opening window of the greenhouse. As the temperature inside the greenhousegoes up or down, the arm opens and closes the window accordingly. If you are away during the day, the automatic window opener gives you peace of mind that your greenhouse plants are being well looked after.

Shelving or staging Greenhouse staging is highly popular with gardeners - and for good reason. It’s strong and provides plenty of surface area for storing your seedlings and plants. Some gardeners like wooden benches, but because insects and pests can overwinter in wood, plastic or steel staging can be a better option. Staging that is easily removed can be useful if you plan to use the floor space later in the season for growing plants in pots or growing bags.

Greenhouse Thermometer To monitor your greenhouse temperature and humidity, you will need a thermometer/hygrometer. You will want to follow up on the temperature rises and falls, especially during summer and winter when you need to know when to heat your greenhouse, or when to cool down by ventilating. Luckily most greenhouse thermometers will also function as a hygrometer and offer you data on the humidity, which means they will measure the amount of water vapour in the air.

Greenhouse Heating Whatever greenhouse ideas you're going for, keeping your plants cozy throughout the winter months is essential. To make that happen, a heater will be a recommended tool. With a heater, you can present the temperature you would like, which will help to keep them healthy and ward off dampness and disease.

Shading To grow freshly, plants need more heat, however, if it is overwhelming, which will be a disaster to your plants. So you need shading to help keep things cooler. Shading blinds or netting can be fitted outside or inside the greenhouse. Or you can paint on a white shading wash, which looks a bit unsightly in the summer but soon washes off.
